Achievements So Far (May 1, 2006 to July 1, 2007)

• Host of the Annual Sports & Recreation Showcase!  Finally - a place for local groups to promote their activities and involve the community in active, healthy living!  The 2007 Showcase will take place at Station Mall Sunday, September 30th!!
• Used Equipment Sales on behalf of our local sports and rec groups.  This provides them with an opportunity to fundraise and recruit members while slimming down their used equipment inventory.
• Coaches Certifications!  We are proud to be involved with the certification of 64 coaches since April, 2006.  NCCP Facilitators have certified Sault Ste. Marie coaches at the following levels:
      (22) Level One (Part A)
      (33) Level Two (Part B)
      (9) Level Three
• We coordinated the funding for 79 children in 2006 and 56 children so far in 2007 (and still counting...) through the Canadian Tire JumpStart Program.
• Co-hosted the popular BodySense Workshop for female athletes
• Hosted several workshops including the Innovative Participation Project Workshop for local volunteers.
• Successfully linked several local groups with TSSM to effectively host sporting events.
• Currently completing our Strategic Plan in partnership with Tourism Sault Ste. Marie (TSSM)
• Thanks to an enthusiastic group of volunteers, A Board of Directors was created in January 2007 to assist with the future direction of Sault Sports Council (SSC).
